2. Scope
This policy applies to the svajc.com website, user accounts, knowledge base, business directory, classifieds, events, contact form, newsletter, analytics and related communications.
3. Personal Data We Process
Account data: name, email address, password hash, login and confirmation data. Profile data: country, city, canton, phone number, avatar, company name and optional UID. User content: business listings, classifieds, events, images, messages and moderation status. Communication data: contact and newsletter data. Technical data: IP address, device and browser data, log files, cookie preferences and analytics events. Payment or booking data is created only if such a feature is actually used; we do not store card data.
4. Purposes and Legal Bases
We process data to operate the service, manage registration and login, display and moderate content, respond to support requests, send newsletters, prevent abuse, maintain security logs, measure statistics and comply with legal obligations. Legal bases may include contract performance, legitimate interests, legal obligations or your consent, especially for newsletters, analytics and marketing.
5. Cookies, Analytics and Marketing Measurement
Necessary cookies and local storage support login, language preferences, security and keeping your cookie choices. Analytics or marketing tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel or TikTok Pixel send full measurement events only after the relevant consent. The Google tag may load with denied default consent so Consent Mode can work.
6. Processors and International Transfers
We may use service providers such as Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting and performance), Resend (email), Stripe (payments, if active), Google, Meta and TikTok (measurement and advertising with consent), Sentry (error logs), Cal.com or other booking providers, and AI providers for editorial or administrative tools. Some providers may operate outside Switzerland or the EEA; where required, we use appropriate contractual, technical and organisational safeguards.
7. Public Content and Community Features
Data you submit for publication in business listings, classifieds or events may be publicly visible. You are responsible for not publishing confidential, unlawful or third-party-infringing information. svajc.com may moderate, reject or remove content.
8. Retention
Account and profile data: while the account exists and afterwards where needed for legal claims. Public posts: until removal or moderation decision. Contact requests: usually up to 24 months. Newsletter consent records: may be retained after unsubscribe for proof. Security logs: usually up to 12 months. Accounting and payment records: as required by Swiss law, typically 10 years.
9. Security and Privacy by Default
We use HTTPS, access restrictions, permission checks, logging and provider security measures. We collect only data needed for the relevant function and do not fully activate non-essential marketing or analytics measurement without consent.
10. Your Rights
You may request access and a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction, portability, object to certain processing and withdraw consent at any time. Some rights may be limited by statutory retention duties or legitimate interests. You can submit requests in the privacy area of your profile or at privacy@svajc.com.
11. Automated Decisions and AI
We do not make fully automated decisions that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects for you. AI tools may be used to prepare, translate, categorise or administratively support content; publication and moderation decisions may be subject to human review.
12. Supervisory Authority and Changes
The Swiss supervisory authority is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC): www.edoeb.admin.ch. EU/EEA data subjects may also contact their local supervisory authority. We may update this policy; material changes will be communicated on the site or by email.
