A housing agreement does not replace residence formalities. The SEM EU/EFTA FAQ says students taking up residence without gainful activity register with the local authority no later than 14 days after arrival and provide evidence including admission and sufficient means. Work, short stays or commuting may follow different rules; check your case with the cantonal authority.
